Three cultural institutions of the city of Aix-en-Provence (Musée Granet, Musée du Pavillon de Vendôme and Cité du Livre) have joined together this summer to exhibit different facets of Fabienne Verdier’s work over the past 25 years, in addition to her most recent creations after a two-year project focused on Mount Sainte Victoire.

Musée Granet will present her first retrospective in France, from the early formative training she received in China up through recent forays into plein air painting.

Also a first, the exhibition at the Musée du Pavillon de Vendôme will cover Fabienne Verdier’s painting techniques and methods, including exceptional brushes and the nomadic studio used in the Cézanne backcountry project, as well as a collection of gouaches and drawings made atop Mount Sainte Victoire.

The Cité du Livre, Galerie Zola, will be presenting from 21 June-14 September Sound Traces, an immersive video installation from a residency at the Festival d’Art Lyrique d’Aix-en-Provence in 2017.
